Resident Evil: Afterlife OST
Resident Evil: Afterlife certainly isn’t among the titles I’d recommend to anyone who isn’t much into original Resident Evil game series. The movie is so overloaded with CGI and special effects, everything looks like plastic. There’s also a whole lot of such scenes that seem terribly pitiful, making things only worse.
In such manner, with the exclusion of opening scene, new Resident Evil is rather well below the expectations. If it wasn’t for Milla Jovovich and Ali Larter, I don’t think I’d even make it to the closing titles. And it should be noted that I myself am a fan Resident Evil. The movie is just that bad.
However!
All Resident Evil movies had a good OST, and this one is no different. New soundtrack recorded by Tomandandy makes for 40 minutes of excellent instrumental music, full of atmospheric themes produced in a great electro-industrial fashion. Not alike the previous one, which consisted of heavy rock songs with an occasional sample — this time the entire album is instrumental, and that’s only for the better!
